Solid Timber
Mostly solid pine, chosen board by board for grain and character rather than pulled off a stack. Where a piece suits it, I use reclaimed pallet wood instead.

Stains & Two-Tone Finishes
Stains & Two-Tone Finishes
Timber stained by hand to bring out the grain, often pairing a darker centre with a lighter frame. The stain sits in the wood rather than on top of it, so the figure still shows through.

Sanded up through the grits, then sealed, oiled or stained depending on what the piece needs.

Measured in millimetres and checked twice before anything is cut or drilled, because timber doesn't forgive mistakes.
Workshop & Tools

Everything is made in my own workshop — no outsourcing, no third parties, just me and the kit below.
Hand Tools
Chisels, hand planes and saws for the detail work, plus clamps in quantity — there's never such a thing as enough clamps.
Power Tools
Table saw and mitre saw for accurate cuts, a router and router table for edges and recesses, a pillar drill, and Forstner bits for clean, flat-bottomed holes.
Measuring & Marking
Squares, gauges and rules worked to the millimetre, with plans drawn up properly before any timber goes near a blade.
Dust Extraction
A wet and dry extractor connected straight to the tools — safer to work in, and a cleaner surface to finish on.
